Tisno is a place in the eastern part of the Island of Murter and partially on the neighbouring mainland (Tisno peninsula), 29 km far from Šibenik. It developed both, on the land and on the island, in the narrowest part of the Murter Channel, in the Murter Passage (38 m), where there is a draw-bridge across it. A draw-bridge between the Island of Murter and the mainland (Tisno), in the centre of Tisno, is open every day 09-09.30 am and 05-05.30 pm during the tourist season.
In Tisno will find many bars, cafes, restaurants and pizzerias.
GARDEN FESTIVAL From 2012. Tisno organizes famous Garden Festival that begins in early July. Start of Garden Festival in Tisno is confirmed for the 3rd July 2013.
Nearby is the famous club's Barabrella which hosts the after parties.
Garden Festival is located at the entrance of Tisno, on the mainland, in the bay Rastovac.
In Tisno there is plenty of accommodation ranging from apartments, holiday rentals to hotels and camping. During Garden Festival accommodation prices can be double, so we reccommend accommodation in neighboring towns (Murter) from which you can easily visit the Garden festival with daily organized bus transport, boat transport and taxi services.
The average temperature is 6.9°C in January and 24.7°C in July. Tisno history: It was first mentioned in 1474. The parish church from 1548 was restored during the Baroque period and then it was completed in 1840; the bell tower was being built from 1680 to 1684 by local inhabitants. Other churches are from the 17th ct. In Ivinje, a hamlet on the mainland, there is the medieval St. Martin’s church.
