There are two small places on the island. Their names are Šepurine and Luka.
Šepurine is located in the southwestern side of the island and Luka in the island's southeastern side, in a naturally well protected cove called Luka. The island's vegetation consists of the Mediterranean macchia-dense evergreen underbrush, vineyards and oliveyards; and with the picturesque pieceful coves, the island is an ideal place for a holiday for the people who appreciate and enjoy the tranquility of an island.
The total area of Prvić is 2.37km2, and its length 3.1 km, from the northern cape St. Luca to the southern one called St. Ante.
Prvić is well connected to Vodice and Šibenik. A ship goes both ways five times a day.
It is only a few kilometers far from the Adriatic Highway Zadar - Šibenik - Split and the new Motorway Zagreb - Split. And the airports in Zadar and Split are less than 50 km away. The island of Prvić, as well as Zlarin, Krapanj, Lupac, Zmajan, Logorun, Kaprije, Žirje, Obonjan, Sestre, Kakanj, Mišjaci, Tetovišnjaci and many other small islands in the Šibenik archipelago are true jewels among the Dalmatian islands. Therefore, this is the most beautiful area for the agreeable sailing for the sailors and those who enjoy that kind of holiday.
Prvić is a flat island, and its land is mostly cultivated. The coast, in its entire length, is suitable for swimming.
About several hundred people live in each of the two villages (Prvić Luka and Šepurina).
A lot of guests from the nearby marinas (Vodice, Solaris, Šibenik) and places on land come to the island every day as they are attracted by nice beaches and the clear sea. |
