Krapanj is the smallest, lowest, and most populated island of the Mediterranean with the area of 0.36 km2 and average height above sea-level of 1.5m. It is about 300 m far from the nearest land where the place Brodarica is located. If you are looking for a nook for a pieceful and quiet holiday, Krapanj is the right choice. The graveled beaches are suitable for children's playing, and it is possible to rent a boat so that you could easily explore the nearby coves and beaches.

Krapanj is only 400 m far from the land. Its height above sea-level is not more than 1.25 m, and in 1960s it was the most densely populated island in the Adriatic Sea, with more than 1500 inhabitants. It has an area of less than half a square kilometer. It has not been easy to survive on such a small area, for there has been little cultivable land on the island (densely intersected by drystone walls deviding it into plots as big as small gardens.)
